A man has been detained for extorting money from Vihiga County Woman Representative aspirant Jackline Mwenesi Lukalo over alleged nude photos of her with young boys.

Directorate of Criminal Investigations officer John Kamitu through a miscellaneous application filed at Milimani law courts in Nairobi asked the court to detain Tyson Wabuti Emitekho at Muthaiga police station for four days in order to complete investigation into the matter.

But magistrate Jane Kamau detained the suspect for three days.

According to the miscellaneous application, Tyson is alleged to have sent messages and nude photos to the UDA aspirant before demanding money.

“That the complainant showed me the nude photos that the respondent sent to her on WhatsApp and Twitter. The respondent went further to demand money. For fear of being exposed, the complainant sent Ksh5000 to the respondent and another Ksh 37,000 in cash,” Kamitu told the court.

The court heard that the respondent was arrested on March 19, 2022, for having committed an offence of demanding property by written threats contrary to section 299 of the Penal Code.

The investigating officer revealed that the UDA aspirant sought assistance of DCI after she reportedly got tired of the extortion game.

The respondent is also alleged to have sent obscene Whatsapp messages to the complainant.
