City lawyer Cliff Ombeta has weighed in on the ongoing case involving a police constable who was allegedly involved in the murder of her two colleagues.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Ms Caroline Kangogo is the main suspect in the murder of constable John Ogweno, who was based in Nakuru and Peter Ndwiga who was killed in Juja, Kiambu County.

Ombeta has now advised the DCI to allow the lady to surrender to the detectives with an assurance of fair treatment.

” DCI, do this: Give her space to come in(surrender) assure her of fair treatment and access to justice. “Uncork” your weapons and bloodthirsty attitude so that we avoid extrajudicial killings,” he noted.

He believes that Caroline has a story to tell and should be given a chance to speak up. This, he claims as he asked DCI to call upon the public to avoid instant mob justice in case she is spotted.

“She definitely will have a story. Ask the public to avoid instant/mob justice if spotted,” he wrote in conclusion.

As previously reported, Caroline is believed to be the last woman who was seen walking into a room at Hotel Dedamax in Kimbo, Kiambu County where the body of a man identified as Peter Ndwiga was found lifeless.

“The rogue officer who took off with Ogweno’s firearm a loaded Ceska pistol lured a man to Dedamax Hotel in Kimbo, Juja area at around 4 pm yesterday. She later emerged from the room at around midnight and fled to an unknown destination, leaving the dead man’s body sprawled on the bed,” DCI boss George Kinoti said in a statement.

According to Kinoti, Kangogo lured the man to the VIP room, paid for it before turning against him and ending his life.

On Tuesday, July 6, a detective privy to the ongoing investigations  K24 Digital that investigations were ongoing to ascertain whether Ndwiga was the man who had gone to Kangogo’s home in Nakuru on Sunday.

According to police in Nakuru, Ogweno who was found dead inside his car at the parking lot of Kasarani Police lines in Nakuru was in the house of Kangogo when the unidentified man arrived.

The man then opted to leave the house without causing any commotion which led to differences between Kangogo and Ogweno.

Police in Nakuru said that they did not hear any gunshots when Ogweno was killed similar to an argument by attendants at Dedamax hotel in Juja who said they never heard the gunshots.

K24 Digital has further established that Kangogo was once married to a senior Marine officer based in the Coastal region and that they together have two kids.

The Kenya Police in a statement on Tuesday night said that Kangogo was “lethal, armed and dangerous.”
