Lawrence Waruinge, the main suspect in the murder of his parents, brother, cousin and a farmhand at their home in Kiambaa, Kiambu County is fit to stand trial.

A mental assessment conducted on the 22-year-old revealed that Waruinge and the other suspect, his girlfriend Sarah Muthoni, are of sound mind.

“The two are of sound mind and they will be presented in court and be charged with murder,” a detective privy to the investigation revealed. who spoke in confidence and who is privy to the investigation said.

Waruinge confessed to detectives that he was the one who ended the lives of the five after he was inspired by a movie series, Killing Eve.

He said that he decided to kill his parents and siblings because they were talking ill of him and over alleged unfair treatment.

His parents and siblings were buried on Saturday, January 16, in Kiambu County while the farmhand had been laid to rest the day before.
