KNEC flags Telegram channel promising good 2024 KPSEA grades

The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has flagged a Telegram channel promising good results to parents and candidates of the 2024 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) exams.

In a statement on Wednesday, January 8, 2024, a day after releasing the results, KNEC flagged the channel as a “scam”.

On Tuesday, January 7, 2024, KNEC advised schools that presented candidates for the assessment to log into the portal and access the learner-specific reports.

“The 2024 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) reports are ready and have been uploaded on the CBA portal, http://cba.knec.ac.ke. Schools that presented candidates for the assessment are advised to log into the portal and access the learner-specific reports. Congratulations to all the 2024 KPSEA candidates,” KNEC stated.

The assesment exams were done by Grade 6 pupils who will now be joining Grade 7.

At least 1,303,913 Grade 6 students sat the KPSEA exams between October 28 and November 1, 2024, across 35,573 centres in the country.

Among the subjects that the learners sat are Mathematics, English, Integrated Science, Kiswahili, Creative Arts, and Social Studies.

Learners will not be ranked, but the KPSEA will contribute 20% to the overall score, alongside a 20% school-based assessment in Grade 7 and a 60% summative evaluation at the end of Grade 9.

Grade 9 will signal the conclusion of Junior School, with learners advancing to Senior School in 2026, where they will have the opportunity to select their career pathways.
