Kindiki: Raila, Ruto alliance too strong to lose in 2027

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has expressed strong confidence that the political partnership between President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga will be unbeatable in the 2027 General Election.
Speaking on Saturday, July 12, 2025, during the Kuria East Constituency Economic Forum in Migori County, Kindiki declared that the emerging alliance between the two leaders, alongside himself, was too formidable to be defeated at the ballot.
“We are focused on working for Kenyans. The time for campaigns will come. If you look at William Ruto, me, and now that we have His Excellency Raila Odinga on our team, do we look like people who can be defeated by those people during campaigns?” Kindiki posed confidently.
He clarified that while the team was politically prepared, the government’s current focus remains on fulfilling its development agenda.
“Let the campaign period reach and we will beat them then, but not now. Right now, we are working,” he added.
Kindiki also urged fellow leaders within the ruling coalition to intensify their delivery efforts and avoid taking their positions for granted.

“Our group, led by President William Ruto, wants to pull up our socks because leadership is temporary, not permanent.
Won’t everyone be a former at some point?” he said, taking a swipe at leaders he accused of wasting their time in office.
In a veiled attack on former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Kindiki criticised those who have now resorted to “lecturing others” in public after losing political favour.
“They had occupied big seats in the office but misused their time there, and now they keep lecturing us out there,” he said.
He also dismissed the opposition as lacking a serious development plan, accusing them of engaging Kenyans only during campaign seasons.
“They usually wait for the election period, and that is when they remember Mama Mboga exists,” he said, criticising tokenistic campaign gestures.
