Joy and celebrations on Monday, October 28, 2024, filled the air as local artistes and residents in Kiambu County held birthday celebrations for former president Uhuru Kenyatta.

The event was graced by Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Ferdinand Waititu, Maina Njenga and a section of leaders allied to the Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya coalition.

Cheerful locals who attended the event sang and danced to reggae and Kikuyu music as they celebrated the former Head of State.

They later enjoyed a cake-cutting ceremony where they shared a cake branded with Kenyatta’s name.

As they seized the moment, they sang birthday songs and wished Uhuru blessings and prosperity as he turned 63.

Speaking at the event, a joyful Kalonzo disclosed that the former president was headed back home from the African Union’s 15th High-Level Retreat in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

The Wiper Party Leader also criticized those spreading false information about Kenyatta’s well-being on social media.

“We are expecting our brother Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta to return home early. Some people were spreading false information but he is healthy. He was seen in Côte d’Ivoire and he is still on the way. Those spreading the fake information may be ashamed. May the devil be ashamed,” Kalonzo said.

Kenyans from all over the country took to various media platforms to wish him a happy birthday.

As Kenyans shared their birthday messages, the former president broke the silence on his well-being following speculations about his health.

In an interview with Kameme FM presenter Muthoni wa Kirumba, Kenyatta confirmed that he was as fit as a fiddle and doing very well.

He also appreciated Kenyans for their warm birthday wishes and prayed for the country’s peace and understanding for prosperity.

“I am well and I am at peace and am grateful to God. Am praying for peace and understanding in our nation as this is the only way our country will grow and prosper. And I have never had an issue with anyone and till date I have no issue with anyone” the former president said.
