Kenya registered 213 new COVID-19 cases, bringing to 4, 257 the total number of infections in the country, Health CAS Dr. Rashid Aman said Thursday.

The 213 new cases were discovered in 6, 024 samples tested between Wednesday and Thursday.

One hundred and ninety eight (198) of the new cases were registered among Kenyans, whereas 15 were foreigners.

One hundred and fifty one (151) of the 213 patients were male, whereas 62 were female.

The youngest of the new patients is 1 year old, whereas the oldest is 73 years old.

With 136 cases, Nairobi produced a bulk of the new cases. Mombasa had 32 cases, Kajiado had 13, Kiambu posted 7, and Busia, with five cases, rounded out the five-most-affected counties in Kenya.

One hundred and six (106) patients recovered from COVID-19 in the country, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1, 459.

Ten more patients succumbed to the contagion, pushing the national toll to 117.

Kenya has thus far tested 130, 498 samples for COVID-19.
