Kenya Power lists parts of 10 counties to experience blackout on July 22
Several areas in the country are expected to experience outages on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.
In a notice issued by Kenya Power on Monday, July 21, 2025, areas within 10 counties will not have power for a specific number of hours.

The expected outage is to allow for routine maintenance of the transmission lines and other electricity infrastructure to assure customers of an uninterrupted power supply.
Nairobi
In Nairobi, specific areas will be without power from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
According to the utility company, Miotoni Road, Lenana School, Ngando, Racecourse, Jockey Club, Jamuhuri Park, Rowland Camp, Dagoretti Corner, Ayany, Showground, National Bee Keeping, Santack Estate, Gikuyu Close, and adjacent customers will all be affected.
Sections of Kangundo Road will also be affected by the announced outage.
Kisumu County
In Kisumu, the planned maintenance will be carried out majorly around Migosi area with specific places set to be affected, including Kisumu Show Ground, Ogango Market, Migosi Hospital, Gudka Estate, Kenya Re Estate and adjacent customers.
Power will be off from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Kakamega County
Shinyalu will be affected by the announced maintenance exercise from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Areas around Amalemba, Shitaho, Kakamega Airstrip, Muranda, Shinyalu Market, Virembe, Rondo Retreat, Vikoshe, Shamakubu and adjacent customers will be without power.
Kisii County
According to Kenya Power, Kegati, Nyankoo and Kiogoro will mostly be hit by the planned maintenance from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
“Kegati Mkt, Nyankoo, Kiogoro Mkt, Itume, Rianyamwamu Tea, Itumbe Tea, Itibo, Nyansongo & adjacent customers,” Kenya Power listed the areas.
Homabay County
According to the electricity transmission firm, parts of Ndhiwa will be in the dark from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
The specific areas set to be affected include Kalamindi, Ratanga, Aora Chuodho, Konyango Rabour, Apuoche, Sibuoche, Ratil, Mikumi Hills, Kodida, Nyamos, Ojode Nyasosendi, Nyamogo, Kiasa, Nyarongi SDA and adjacent customers.
Migori County
Kenya Power explained that Nyarongi will be affected by the planned maintenance from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with specific areas being Nyarongi, Bansi, Kombato, Nyamage and adjacent customers.
Nyeri
In Nyeri some residents will be without power from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
“Mahiga Girls, Ndunyu Mkt, Gitugi Mkt, Hubuini Mkt, Mathenge Technical, Mahiga C/Fact, Gura, Kihome Mkt, Gathuthi, Ndugamano, Mukarara, Dr. Kamundia Girls, Prof. Wangari Maathai, Githerere Mkt & adjacent customers,” Kenya Power listed.
In Kiambu, parts of Rironi, Kiroe, Ngecha, Mahinga, KBC Rironi, Tilisi, Nduma, Mirithu, Swatch, Luquman Petrol Stn & adjacent customers will be without power for over eight hours.
Kakoongo, Kora, Mivukoni, Tseikuru, Kaningo, Usueni, Kamisiliu, Mikauni, Wikithuki, Mamamalia, Kaivairya, Masyungwa Mkt, Ivonangya & adjacent customers in Kitui Couty will also be without power for eight hours.
In Mombasa, areas around Ganjoni, Shelly Beach Road and Miritini will also experience electricity supply disruption from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
