How to survive during power blackout

Although power outages can be frustrating, a little advance preparation can make the day smoother.

Charging essential devices such as phones, laptops, torches and power banks ahead of time can prevent unnecessary inconvenience.

Modern rechargeable bulbs that store power for hours can offer relief at night, while keeping a small flashlight in an easy to find location helps during unexpected darkness.

Households that rely on fridges may consider minimising door openings to retain cold air.

Kenya Power encourages customers to treat the maintenance exercise as part of improving overall service quality even if it comes with temporary discomfort.
