KeNHA announces traffic disruption on a section of Mombasa Road
The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has notified the public of a planned five-hour traffic disruption along Mombasa Road on Sunday, November 30, 2025.
In a notice published in the latest issue of MyGov on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, the authority announced that a section of Mombasa Road (A8) between Nyayo National Stadium Roundabout and Museum Hill Interchange will experience traffic disruption.
“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that a section of Mombasa Road (A8) between Nyayo National Stadium
Roundabout and Museum Hill Interchange will experience traffic disruption on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 6.00 am to 10.30 am,” KeNHA stated.
The authority has confirmed further that the five-hour disruption is linked to a 21-KM half-marathon in commemoration of World AIDS Day, 2025.
Therefore, the motorists planning to traverse the route at that time have been urged to follow the proposed traffic management plan and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site on that Sunday.
“This is to allow for a 21-km half marathon in commemoration of World AIDS Day, 2025, to take place. KeNHA advises motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site,” KeNHA said.

Other traffic disruptions
In a notice issued on Saturday, November 15, 2025, KeNHA stated that the works are scheduled to take place from Friday, November 14, 2025, to Monday, December 1, 2025, daily.
The authority said both Kilimambogo-bound traffic and Thika-bound traffic will be diverted as indicated on the traffic diversion plan.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution around the work areas, follow the proposed traffic management plan, and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site.
According to the notice, Thika-bound vehicles will be rerouted via a side road to Gatuanyaga Market and back to the main road, while Kilimambogo-bound traffic will use a parallel service road.
The work zones will be clearly marked, and traffic marshals will be present to guide drivers through the diversions.
KeNHA emphasised that the carriageway rehabilitation is intended to improve road conditions along this section of the A3 highway.
The authority said, “Motorists are requested to exercise caution around the work areas, to follow the proposed traffic management plan, and to cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site.”
