TikToker Kaluma Boy’s ailing father has finally been transferred to Jumuia Mission Hospital, marking a new phase in his long journey of recovery, thanks to overwhelming support from Kenyans of goodwill.

In a video shared on TikTok on Monday, October 6, 2025, Kaluma documented the emotional moment as his father was dressed and prepared for transfer.

The bedridden man, who has been under his family’s care for months, was seen being assisted by the family’s helper, businessman Mofarm, and members from Bishop Ben Kiengei’s Jesus Compassion Ministry (JCM) Church.

Together, they gently wheeled him out of what appeared to be a hotel room, placing him in a waiting ambulance branded with the church’s logo.

Kaluma revealed that the family was taking his father to Jumuia Mission Hospital, where he will now receive specialised treatment and professional medical attention after months of home care.

Fundraisers

The move follows a string of nationwide fundraisers and donations that have seen Kenyans rally behind the teenager since his father’s illness went public.

The family’s touching story first captured public attention when Kaluma began sharing videos on TikTok showing his daily routine caring for his bedridden father, who suffered a stroke in August 2024.

His authenticity and humility quickly inspired an online movement that culminated in a massive physical fundraiser in Othaya on Sunday, September 28, 2025.

Hundreds of TikTokers and young Kenyans from across the country travelled to the sleepy village to show solidarity. What began as a simple online appeal turned into one of the most powerful youth-driven humanitarian gatherings in recent memory. By the end of the day, thousands of supporters had contributed funds, food supplies, and household essentials to help the family.

Among those who stepped forward was businessman Mofarm, who made the day’s biggest single contribution of Ksh300,000 and later took an active role in ensuring the father’s transfer.

Popular artistes and influencers such as Young Blood Kamotho (YBK), Rachael Otuoma, Bancy, Sparky Kenya, Junior wa Hii Styles, and Kenyan Prince were also part of the Othaya drive, each contributing between Ksh10,000 and Ksh50,000.

Bishop Ben Kiengei, who followed the campaign closely, donated a special medical bed, an electric wheelchair, and food supplies, promising to stand with the family until the father’s full recovery. His church members have since remained actively involved in offering logistical and emotional support to the family.

Just a week later, on Sunday, October 5, 2025, the family held a thanksgiving service at JCM Church in Ruiru, where the magnitude of Kenyans’ generosity was again on display.

During the event, congregants and online supporters raised over Ksh2 million in just thirty minutes to support Kaluma’s mother, alongside other donations including a Samsung S24 Ultra phone and a piece of land.

The generosity did not end there. Several well-wishers at the Thanksgiving contributed directly to covering the father’s medical costs. Mugithi artiste Samidoh donated Ksh50,000, Kameme FM presenter Muthoni Baby Top gave Ksh200,000, while more contributions from congregants and online supporters were channelled through the family’s paybill number.

Bishop Kiengei announced that the funds would be used to set up a business for Kaluma’s mother, while also confirming that the young content creator had been awarded a full university scholarship to study Sales and Marketing at the East African University.
