KAA confirms fire incident at JKIA

The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has confirmed a fire incident at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
In a statement on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, KAA said the fire incident involved a vehicle parked on Level 1 of the JKIA parking garage.
“The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) wishes to confirm that a fire incident occurred this afternoon involving a vehicle parked on Level I of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) parking garage. The authority’s fire and rescue teams responded promptly and successfully extinguished the fire, preventing further damage or escalation. No other vehicles were damaged,” KAA stated.
“We want to assure all passengers, airport users, and stakeholders that their safety and security remain our top priority. Investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the fire. Operations at JKIA remain normal with no disruptions.”
