Jubilee party has rejected Anne Ngirita’s request to join the party ahead of the August 9 polls.

The party says she is required to first get cleared by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission(EACC), Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and Kenya Revenue Authority(KRA) to seek the party’s ticket.

Ngirita, the main suspect in the infamous NYS scandal II was set to join the Jubilee party today a little while after decamping Deputy President’s UDA party.

She was today morning seen outside Jubilee Party Nakuru branch office in Milimani seeking a ticket to run for the Nakuru Woman Representative seat.

Speaking to the press before the party rejected her, she said she wanted to be part of the Azimio la Umoja movement led by ODM leader Raila Odinga saying she had previously joined UDA out of peer pressure.

“Yes nilikua kwa chama ya UDA but nilitoka mimi mwenyewe. Nilitoka kwa sababu Baba (Raila) and Uhuru walisema turudi nyumbani nikaona nilikua nimepotea. Ilikua out of peer pressure,” Ngirita said.

“Mimi nataka kusaidia youth na kina mama. Mimi najua zile shida youth wanapitia,” she added.

Loosely translated as “(I would like to focus on the youths and the women. I know what they go through)”
