Police in Nyandarua on Monday, February 24, recovered a human skull, rib, pelvic and shoulder bones, women’s clothes, a handbag, high-heel shoes and three IDs of Kenyan citizens in a maize farm in Ndaragwa.

Muruai Location chief, Mary Muthoni, in her report filed at Ndaragwa Police Station at 12:15pm Monday, said she had received information from a resident that when he and his colleagues were harvesting maize from a farm in Maendeleo Village, they stumbled upon the body parts and the listed items scattered on the farm.

Muthoni said she alerted police, who arrived at the scene and took away the body parts and belonging.

The ID cards recovered had the following names and numbers: Penina Wangare Murachia; ID No. 2960027, Dorcas Wairimu Murachia; ID No. 9532608 and Florence Wanjiku; ID No. 37861456.

Police believe the retrieved body parts are those of Florence Wanjiku, a Nyandarua resident who went missing on December 17, 2019. Wanjiku’s disappearance was reported under the OB Number 4/26/12/2019.

The body parts were taken to Nyahururu Sub-County Referral Hospital morgue as investigations into the matter begin.
