Githurai fire razes timber yard, furniture shops

Fire has destroyed the expansive furniture and timber yard market in Gutharai 44 area in Nairobi County.

According to local residents, the fire started at about 4am and spread quickly into adjacent shops.

The cause of the fire has not yet been established and traders have been left counting heavy losses.

Kiambu and Nairobi counties as well as the army dispatched fire engines to the site.
