Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has landed in Malawi to attend the inauguration of the country’s President-elect Lazarus Chakwera.

The senator is among specially-invited guests numbering 100 that will witness the festivities that have since been moved to a military barracks.

Malawi’s new president scaled back plans for his formal inauguration at the Lilongwe’s football stadium to limit the spread of coronavirus.

On Monday, the BBC reported that the president had also called off independence celebrations
