Kenya African National Union (KANU) party leader Gideon Moi has condemned the rising cases of killings being witnessed in the country.
Taking to his official X account on Thursday, October 24, 2024, the former Senator of Baringo County stated that it is disturbing and heartbreaking to witness the brutal killings of Kenyans.
“The country is witnessing a deeply disturbing and heartbreaking surge in brutal murders of Kenyans,” Gideon said.

According to Moi, the gruesome murders are causing threats to national security.
Additionally, he stated that no Kenyan should live in fear or feel unsafe walking on the streets or going about their daily lives.
“These rampant femicide cases and macabre killings, abetted by the now-commonplace abductions, are creeping back into the country and striking at the very core of our sense of security as a nation.
“No one should live in fear, and no Kenyan should ever feel unsafe walking our streets or going about their daily lives,” he added.
He further urged the government to reinforce security agencies to guarantee its citizens’ safety, stating that every Kenyan has the right to live without fear.
Condoling families that lost their loved ones, he also said that there must be a renewed focus on securing public spaces and improving law enforcement.
“Therefore, the government must now step up its efforts to guarantee the safety and security of every Kenyan. There must be a renewed focus on securing public spaces and improving law enforcement. Every Kenyan has the right to live without fear, and it is the government’s duty to ensure this right is protected at all costs,” he stated.
“My condolences to the bereaved families. May they find comfort in the Lord in these difficult times.”
