The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed has issued a directive to Kenyan football fans anticipating watching the CHAN games at Kasarani Stadium to arrive not later than five hours before the match.

The FKF President, while making his remarks on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, called on Kenyan football fans to avoid the last-minute rush and keep time, while urging the football fans to have their tickets ready on their mobile phones to speed up the verification process.

“Five hours before the kickoff with your ticket ready on your mobile phone for quick verification, do not wait for the last minute,” the FKF president said.

On his part, the FKF president has noted that arriving at the Stadium an hour before the match is too late, further encouraging football fans to come in early, as there will be entertainment going on ahead of the kick-off.

“If you are trying to come to the stadium at 2:00 PM and the game is at 3 o’clock, for example, you are too late, please come to the stadium early, get your seats, enjoy the entertainment comfortably,” FKF President noted.

Likewise, Mohammed has called on Kenyans to keenly follow instructions provided by the stewards and security personnel present at the Moi Sports Ksarani Stadium to ensure seamless activities during the D-Days.

Potential Security Breaches

“Everyone must follow all security guidelines and instructions from event officials at all times. Please follow the directions of the stewards, security personnel on the ground as you are directed,” Mohammed said.

Further adding, “This enables free flow of people in and out of the stadium and guarantees your safety and security.”

On the other hand, Mohammed has highlighted that the future of Kenyan football lies entirely with the Kenyans’ collective responsibility during the ongoing CHAN tournament.

“The future of Kenyan football now depends on our collective responsibility and cooperation,” Mohamed said.

According to the Football Kenya Federation President, continued security breaches could attract sanctions from relevant authorities, which would ultimately deny Kenyans a chance to experience a similar tournament in the future.

The FKF President has called on Kenyans to take a collective responsibility in ensuring a seamless event that will not erase the gains the country already has at hand.

“Continued security breaches attract severe sanctions from the relevant authorities, sanctions that would ultimately deny Kenyans the chance to enjoy such events in the future and erode the gains that we have already achieved in the recent past
