Ministry of Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has officially launched the Digital Health Agency Strategic plan, which aims at transforming healthcare delivery through the integration of cutting-edge digital technologies.

The Health CS launched the strategic plan on Thursday, August 14, 2025, during the annual devolution conference in Homa Bay County.

“It is my duty and honour to launch the Digital Health Agency strategic plan,” Duale said.

On his part, the Health CS noted that the proposed Digital Health Agency is reshaping how the Ministry of Health is delivering health care while improving efficiency and safeguarding public resources.

“Kenya Digital health transformation is here and it is real, it is reshaping how we deliver care, improve efficiency and safeguard public resources,” Duale said.

Likewise, Duale acknowledged that the new Digital Health Agency plan is the government’s move to enhance healthcare accessibility, improve patient outcomes, and ensure data security.

“With the launch of the Digital Health Agency strategic plan alongside other guiding documents, this will serve the campus for advancing our nation’s health digitisation agenda,” Duale noted.

Health digitisation plan

In addition, Duale highlighted that through the Social Health Authority, the Ministry of Health has made digitisation a core pillar of the ongoing health sector reforms through very key initiatives.

Duale has also noted that following the digitisation phase within the Ministry of Health, DHA and other health care platforms such as the Taifa Health Care have developed, operationalised and maintained the Comprehensive Integrated Health Information System, which has managed the core digital systems and the infrastructure required for its seamless health information exchange.

“Including the Taifa Health Care platforms, which integrates telemedicine, insurance management facility data, and to make sure that we provide health care which will prevent fraud,” he said.

Worth noting, the Digital Health Agency (DHA) is a government body dedicated to transforming healthcare delivery through the integration of cutting-edge digital technologies.

On the other hand, DHA’s mission, according to the Ministry of Health, is to enhance healthcare accessibility, improve patient outcomes, and ensure data security by developing and maintaining a comprehensive digital health ecosystem across Kenya.
