Deputy President William Ruto has led Kenyans in mourning Kenya’s renowned politician and farmer Mzee Jackson Kibor who died on Wednesday evening at a hospital in Eldoret after a long illness.

In his message, DP Ruto described Kibor as a firm industrious leader who spoke on what he believed.

He also passed his messages of prayers and comfort to the family and friends of the late Kibor.

“Our love and prayers to the family and friends of Mzee Jackson Kibor at this time of grief. Mzee was firm, industrious and vocal on issues he believed in. Rest In Peace Mzee Kibor,” Ruto said.

The Men’s Conference Chairman as he was commonly known died at the age of 88 while receiving treatment at St. Lukes’s Hospital in Eldoret.

According to his daughter, Kibor had been having breathing issues ever since he contracted Covid-19 in 2020.

“Yes, we’ve lost him. Our father has been on oxygen since October 2020 after he contracted COVID-19,” Ms Kibor said in a statement.

Mr Kibor had an oxygen cylinder at his home and another inside his vehicle if he had to go out of his palatial home on the outskirts of Eldoret town.

K24 Digital has established that he was recently admitted to the health facility where medics confirmed that his two kidneys had failed.
