Spouse to the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Dorcas Rigathi, has been invited to address men on the eve of Father’s Day on Sunday, June 16, 2024.

Dorcas has been at the forefront of championing boys’ rights in the country with various initiatives, and on Father’s Day eve, she will deliver an address in the United Kingdom.

“On the eve of Father’s Day, and in honour of all men, I have tonight accepted an invitation to speak to men living in the UK. The agenda for the boy and man spans across nations, and it will be an honour to share my vision and encourage everyone’s involvement in the building up of the man.

“When we have a strong man, we shall have strong families, communities, and nations. I also wish all fathers and father figures a happy Father’s Day tomorrow,” Dorcas Rigathi posted on her X handle.

Father’s Day is celebrated as a holiday honouring one’s father, as well as fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society.

Other initiative

Meanwhile, Dorcas visited boys undergoing vocational training in Nyandarua County on Saturday, June 14, 2024.

“I was elated to share an afternoon with more than 300 boys currently undergoing vocational training at the Nyandarua Training Centre in Olkalou, Nyandarua County,” Dorcas said in a different post on Saturday.

According to her, the boys have been trained in various crafts after undergoing rehabilitation.

“The men have been through rehabilitation programs in Embu, Meru, Bomet, and in Kiambu Counties. At this centre, we are training and skilling them in building and masonry, housekeeping, cosmetology, graphic design and production, fashion and design, agriculture, shoemaking, welding, and plumbing, among other technical skills.

“I invite more partners to collaborate and support job placement for this cohort,” Gachagua’s wife said.
