Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has announced that he will not seek re-election in the elections past 2027, even if his constituents force him to vie again.

Amisi made his remarks on Monday, September 8, 2025, during an interview with a local media house, where he revealed his call for change in the political leadership space.

At the time, the legislature noted that a time had come for a new generation to take leadership and build a culture of responsibility among Kenyan leaders.

“I do not want to serve for 50 years; even if the people of Sabot want me to vie again, I’ll tell them no, thank you,” Amisi said.

On his part, Amisi has announced that he only needs 15 years to serve as a Member of Parliament for Saboti Constituency.

“I said, ‘But 15 years, please,’ so I’m asking, and I’ll say thank you,” he added.

In addition, Amisi noted that in the case that he fails in the upcoming general elections, he will resort to his farm and practice farming as he paves the way for other capable leaders.

The vocal MP Amisi also raised concerns over the school capitation system, warning that funds meant to support needy students are not effectively reaching parents and pupils.

Amisi’s message to fellow politicians

He further condemned politicians who stay in leadership for too long.

“If I don’t win, I’ll go and do my work. I’ll just go farming. There are other capable leaders who can lead. You don’t need to stay in leadership for long. Let’s build the culture of responsibility as a leader that I’ve been given 10 years or 15 years as a leader in this position,” Amisi stated.

The legislator is now advocating for leaders to embrace change by allowing other Kenyans to lead, while he argues that other Kenyans may have better ideas for governing the country.

“Can I allow somebody else, another Kenyan, to also take over? Probably, he has a good idea of capitation. Maybe he has a better idea of SHA. Maybe he has a better idea on transportation and the electoral system,” he noted.

Amisi warns voters.

Caleb Amisi has been vocal on the ideas of governance, having hit the headlines with criticism of the Kenya Kwanza administration.

In a recent remark, the Saboti Member of Parliament (MP), Caleb Amisi, criticised the Kenya Kwanza administration under President William Ruto over what he has described as public resource wastage amid economic hardships facing the country.

Taking to his X account on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, Amisi went ahead to urge the public to send the Kenya Kwanza regime home in the 2027 general election and avoid electing a wasteful government.

“There is a Kenyan somewhere who will still vote for this government, and then when things go bad again, they say we regret it. Let’s avoid wastage of resources in the next election by all means necessary. Kenya needs a renaissance!” Caleb Amisis said.
