Activist Boniface Mwangi has called on Kenyan social media users to be extremely careful when sharing their posts on various platforms.
Taking to his official X account on Sunday, July 14, 2024, Mwangi urged netizens to avoid posting lies at such a time when the country is in a crisis.
Mwangi on posting lies
According to the activist, posting lies on social media platforms can easily inflame the country.
“It’s bad enough in Kenya and if you have a platform, use it responsibly, don’t post lies that could inflame our country,” he said in his statement.
Boniface Mwangi went ahead to state that netizens should weigh their words before posting, considering that more than enough people have already died.
Gen Z protests
While making reference to the Gen Z demonstrations, the activist pointed out that they are in the protests to fight for a better Kenya, and that no one should die in the fight.
“More than enough people have died. As you post from the comfort of your home, weigh your words. No one is in this struggle to die, we just want a better Kenya,” Boniface Mwangi stated.

Boniface Mwangi’s remarks come hours after lawyer Miguna Miguna claimed that over 400 people had been killed in Githurai in an operation led by the police and Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officers following the June 25, 2024, deadly protests.
Miguna told off
Mwangi told off Miguna Miguna and emphasized the importance of truth in a struggle.
The activist noted that Miguna Miguna had posted dangerous lies and that he should let the young people do what they have done best without unnecessary distractions.
“In a struggle, truth is very important. What Zakayo voter number one has posted are dangerous lies. He should let the young people do what they have done best without unnecessary distractions. Unlike him, they, and we the Gen Z parents don’t have a second home. Miguna stop lying,” Mwangi stated.

Boniface Mwangi’s concerns come at a time when Kenyans are calling for the government to unravel the mystery of the mutilated bodies that have been discovered at an abandoned quarry in Kware area in Embakasi South, Nairobi.
