A man suspected of slitting the throat of a woman at Gatuanyaga village in Thika has been lynched by an angry mob.

The murder suspect is said to have been smoked out of a nearby bush after irate residents combed the area in search of her killers.

The unidentified man was beaten by the rowdy, furious men and women after he left the bush that is near Del Monte Land.

The brutally murdered woman was in the company of a 4-month-old baby who was found by members of the public unharmed inside an abandoned car.

The horrible scene happened a few meters from where another man was last month found dead with his skin peeled off.

The incident has left locals in shock following heightened insecurity that is now giving them sleepless nights.

“We urge the government to move quick and beef up security in this area. The murder incidents we witnessed for the last few months here are horrifying,” Jacob Mwania, a local told K24 Digital.

Efforts to reach authorities for comment on the matter were futile as they were unavailable by the time of going to press.
