Alice Wahome celebrates after being nominated as Lands CS

Nominated Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development Alice Wahome has expressed her utmost gratitude and excitement following her nomination by President William Ruto.

In a video seen by K24 Digital, the former CS stormed her home tuff, Kandara to celebrate with locals over the recent nomination which came a week after she was fired.

Addressing the press, the CS expressed her utmost gratitude to God for the second opportunity in the same docket.l

She also appreciated President William Ruto for the chance stating that it is a big honour and responsibility bestowed upon her.

The former CS further assured Kenyas that she would give her best and commit to serving them.

“I am most grateful for the renomination or a second nomination to the position of CS Lands, Public Works and Development, I want to take this opportunity to thank God for this second opportunity to serve the country. Secondly, thank the president for finding it fit to give me a second chance, for giving me this job, It is a big honour and responsibility, and I appreciate and confirm and commit my personal commitment,” she said.

Wahome was among the six cabinet secretaries retained by the president in an announcement made on Friday, July 20, 2024.

Other retained nominees include; Kithure Kindiki who has been retained as Interior CS, and Aden Duale who has been retained as Defence CS.

Former Environment, Climate Change and Forestry CS Soipan Tuya has also been retained in the same position.

Davis ChirChir has also been retained but moved to the Ministry of Roads and Transport, whereas ex-CS Rebecca Miano has been nominated as Attorney General.
