5 counties to be hit by blackout on Thursday

A power outage scheduled for Thursday, July 18, 2024, is set to impact five Counties across Kenya, according to the latest announcement from Kenya Power.

The blackout, which is planned for maintenance purposes, will affect several areas at different times of the day.

The outage, while temporary, is expected to impact various sectors and activities in the affected Counties.

Kenya Power said that the Thursday power interruption will affect Nairobi, Kiambu, Busia, Mombasa and Kilifi Counties.

Nairobi

Area: Dandora

Time: 9:00 am. – 5:00 pm

Places to be affected: Part of Komarock Rd, Sakina Petrol Stn, Councilor Opundo Rd, Dandora Phase 5, Ushirika Pri, Kinyago Pri, Gitari Marigu & adjacent customers.

Kiambu

Area: Ruaka Town, Muchatha

Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Places affected: Guango, Nguruwe, Little Sisters, Guango, Clifftop, Kigwaru Inn, Royal Brains, Ruaka S/Centre, Slaughter, Kanungu & adjacent customers.

Kiambu

Area: Angurai, Akichelesit

Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Places affected:  Akichelesit, Kakapel, Angurai Mkt, Katakwa, Aboloi, Kamunyele, Rwatama, Kakurikit, Kasinge, Adanya, Katoitoi Pri & adjacent customers.

Mombasa

Area: Shanzu

Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Places affected:  Shimo la Tewa High Sch, Mama Ngina Girls High Sch, Flamingo Hotel, Prison Staff Quarters & adjacent customers.

Kilifi

Area: Part of Kilifi

Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Places affected:  Kiwandani Dispensary, NCPB, Mkoroshoni, Msufini, Koroshoni, Pwani University, Fumbini, Konjora, Cashewnuts & adjacent customers.
