Kapseret Member of Parliament (MP) Oscar Sudi has hilariously hit out at the government for frustrating him over his academic qualifications.
In a video clip shared on Facebook on Saturday, July 1, Sudi expressed gratitude over the ongoing scrutiny of academic papers stating that it has revealed other leaders with questionable papers like himself.
“Thank God for the revelation. Hope you have seen that most leaders are not learned, we are many, ” Sudi said.
The outspoken legislator also hysterically and jokingly claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta’s academic credentials should also be investigated.
Sudi who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto opined that the current controversies around the validity of degree certificates have made it difficult to trust people who claim to have legit academic papers.
“Wanasema sijui Sakaja hana, sijui nani hana sasa hata hatujui nani hana. (They are saying leaders such as Sakaja do not have valid papers until it is becoming difficult to tell who has valid papers and who doesn’t)” Sudi stated.
The lawmaker queried the government for what he calls frustrating him through the courts over the forgery of academic certificates when most leaders have committed similar offences.
“Lakini hawa watu wamekuwa wakinitesa pekee yangu kotini na tuko watu wengi.(These people have been frustrating me yet there are others like me)” he added.
Sudi says only Wetangula has legit academic papers
According to Sudi, the only leader who has genuine papers is Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula.
He, however, insisted that despite the ongoing case, he (Sudi) has legitimate academic papers.
Sudi further stated that, unlike most leaders, he can comfortably name his classmates as a way of proving he went to school.
Recently the legislator sparked debate online after he shared photos of him donning a school uniform during a function at Songolet Secondary School.
Some netizens mocked him stating that he had taken the good step of going back to school to complete his education.
Sudi is among the leaders battling cases in court over allegations of forgery of academic certificates. Other leaders with active court cases include Johnson Sakaja, Wavinya Ndeti, Aisha Jumwa, and Cleophas Malala.
