Roots party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah now says his government will abolish the Boda Boda business if elected in the August polls.

Speaking at a rally in Busia County on Saturday, Wajackoyah, who has promised to legalise marijuana, indicated the business will give the youth an alternative source of income.

The candidate said the Roots party administration will encourage the young people to plant and export bhang to boost their income.

“They will be at the forefront cultivating and exporting bhang to generate millions of money for the country,” Wajackoyah told residents.

“We shall not need boda bodas on our roads because there will be nobody to carry since most Kenyans will be millionaires with money we will generate through exportation of bhang.”

To address the current economic crisis that has seen high commodity prices push the cost of living through the roof, the presidential hopeful said his government will introduce a 24-hour economy where Kenyans will work four days a week.

“There will be three working shifts from 8 am-4 pm, 4 pm- 11 pm and 11 pm-8 am. The move will create more jobs for the unemployed youth and boost the country’s economy because we would have widened the tax base,” he added.

Wajackoyah insists bhang is the solution to revamping Kenya’s ailing economy and settling the country’s ballooning public debt.

The candidate is touted as a third horse in the race slated for August 9, 2022, with pundits saying he is likely to force a run-off.

Others in the race are Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya coalition’s Raila Odinga, United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party’s William Ruto and David Mwaure Waihiga of Agano party.

Wajackoyah allegedly offered Ksh200 Million

Amid his growing popularity among the youth, Wajackoyah recently claimed he was offered Ksh200 million to shelve his presidential ambitions.

The accomplished lawyer claimed a cabal of influential personalities that approached him with the cash offer are hell-bent on ensuring he withdraws from the presidential contest.

He claimed the group is threatened by his growing popularity across the country.

“Recently, they came to my place and said that this Wajackoyah, why don’t we pay him Sh200 million so he can drop his bid. I looked at them and told them I am the most learned man in Africa and cannot be compromised. I have worked in higher places like the United Kingdom and I cannot betray the people’s trust,” he told revellers in Roysambu’s Paris Lounge.
