The Agano Party deputy presidential candidate Ruth Mutua has alleged that one of his neighbour’s gardeners woke up to slash grass due to the effect of smoking bhang.

Ms Mutua was responding to a proposal by Roots Party deputy Presidential candidate Justina Wamae, who is pushing the party agenda to legalise bhang in Kenya for commercial and medical purposes.

“Bhang made my neighbour’s gardener wake up to slash grass at 11pm… I’m looking for a happy mother who will attest their child has taken bhang and they are okay,” said Mutua.

“Justina said Marijuana is used to purify. I don’t know what we are purifying with bhang. Is it the blood we are purifying or what. If Marijuana is medicinal as she claims, then all hospitals should be closed down so people can start using Marijuana to cure diseases,” she added.

Instead of using bhang to pay the country’s debt, Ms Mutua said that the Agano administration will focus on recovering government wealth that has been stolen over the years and stashed abroad.

“It is possible to clear Kenya’s debt in a day. We have over Ksh30 trillion in offshore accounts and this is development money. We want to bring that money back. We might not do it within the first 100 days in office, but we are committed to bring this money home,” Mutua said.

“Agano will bring transparency and new governance. We are the new broom. We are coming to stabilise the economy. Give us the chance to take care of you. You are our bosses not our subjects,” she added.

She also promised that the Agano administration, if elected, will focus on improving the agricultural sector to ensure food security in the country.

“Agriculture has money. We need to restore our economy, that’ll mean even the illiterate will have money with them and we will cut down on importation of commodities like rice,” Ms Mutua said.

Mutua also said that the top leadership will be open to audits by the Kenyan citizens.
