A man in Riruta, Nairobi county was arrested after he was accused of sodomising his own son when his wife was away from home.

The suspect, who was identified as PQ in court, appeared before Kibera senior principal magistrate Phillip Mutua where he denied committing the act to his son.

The persecution charged the suspect with incest and committing an indecent act with the child contrary to the Sexual Offences Act.

The court heard that the accused person sodomised his 6-year-old son in Riruta on February 1, 2023.

According to the charge sheet, the suspect’s wife left him with their son at home and when she came back she found the boy had difficulties walking.

Upon inquiry, the boy told his mother what his father had done to him.

When confronted by his wife about sodomising their son, the man admitted to sexually assaulting the boy and apologized for the act.

The woman, however, reported her husband to the police and he was arrested and arraigned in court.

Kibera law court released the suspect on a Ksh500,00 bond with a surety of the same amount.

The magistrate told the prosecution to furnish the suspect with all the witness statements and documentary evidence that will be used during his trial.

The case will be heard on February 22, 2023.
