KeNHA announces temporary closure of Haile Selassie Avenue

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has temporarily closed Haile Selassie Avenue (CBD Bound) between Haile Selassie Roundabout and Parliament Road.

This closure is scheduled to commence from Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 10:00 pm to Sunday, April 14, 2024 at 5:00 am.

KeNHA says the closure is aimed to allow for the installation of service ducts.

The authority has advised motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site.

“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that there will be a temporary closure of Haile Selassie Avenue (CBD Bound Lanes) between Haile Selassie roundabout and Parliament Road. This closure is scheduled to commence from Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 10:00 pm to Sunday, April 14, 2024 at 5:00 am,” KeNHA stated.

KeNHA has also announced the temporary closure of Haile Selassie Avenue (Upper Hill bound) between Rubis/Neno Evangelism Church Detour and Haile Selassie Roundabout.

“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that there will be a temporary closure of Haile Selassie Avenue (Upper Hill Bound Lanes) between Rubis/Neno Evangelism church detour and Haile Selassie roundabout. This closure is scheduled to commence from Sunday, April 14, 2024, at 10:00 pm to Monday, April 15, 2024, at 5:00 am. This is to allow for the installation of service ducts,” the authority added.

“KeNHA advises motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site.”

This is the second time the section of the road is being closed this month by the authority, after another closure was announced on April 5, 2024.

The closure will affect commuters travelling towards the CBD along Haile Selassie Avenue.

KeNHA assured the public that measures have been put in place to minimize inconvenience during the temporary closure.

Additionally, traffic management personnel will be on-site to assist with the smooth flow of traffic and ensure the safety of all road users.

Just days ago, a section of Uhuru Highway between Haile Selassie Avenue Roundabout and Rubis/Neno Evangelism Church was closed.
