Presidential Candidate George Wajackoyah has alleged that some politicians tried to bribe him with Ksh200 million to shelve his presidential ambition.
Without revealing names, the Roots Party candidate said that a woman was sent to him with a bribe of Ksh200 million, which he declined.
“I just chased (away) the woman who was sent to me. I chased her away. I used a curse word. Because I have millions of Kenyans who are suffering… there are millions of Kenyans who believe in me, who believe in what I do. For me to take Ksh200 million to kill the dreams of these young people… come on, they can take it to hell,” he said.
“They wanted me to campaign against another Presidential candidate… to go into another presidential stronghold so that I could get the votes (for them). They think I do not have the audacity of winning this election. Must I now be termed as a spoiler? They look at me as a spoiler, not as a winner?” he added.
Wajackoyah’s ‘dream’ with Raila
Wajackoyah also defended his liking for Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga, claiming that he spoke with Raila in a dream where he endorsed his (Wajackoyah’s) dream for the presidency.
“I am spiritual. I was talking to Raila in my dream. I was asking him, ‘do you want me to die in Kisumu? Because this is Kondele, Ruto was stoned here. Do you want me to die here? I’ve never spoken to Raila since I left UK until two-three years ago when I met him with Junet Mohammed in Serena. In that dream he told me, I’m pushing you to be the President,” Wajackoyah said.
Wajackoyah’s promise to legalise bhang if elected on August 9 has seen the candidate’s popularity rise in recent months. Pundits now consider him a third horse in the State House contest.
The acclaimed advocate insists bhang is the solution to revamping Kenya’s ailing economy and settling the country’s ballooning public debt.
