Abel Mutua, Phil’s Click Click Bang movie to premiere on Netflix

Kenyan scriptwriter Abel Mutua and director Phillip Karanja are celebrating a major milestone as their 2020 movie ‘Click Click Bang’ makes its debut on Netflix.

The duo took to their respective social media pages to share the exciting news with their fans and expressed their hopes of reaching a global audience with their unique Kenyan story.

“Ladies and gentlemen, tonight from midnight our blockbuster will be up on Netflix. Let’s see if we can reach a global audience with our very own Kenyan story,” they shared.

They also took the opportunity to express their gratitude to their dedicated fan base.

“Thank you kwa kutushikilia, let’s recruit more ambassadors globally now.”

‘Click Click Bang’ synopsis

‘Click Click Bang’ tells the compelling story of Kev, a talented footballer and orphan who finds himself faced with the responsibility of caring for his ailing sister when his football dreams are shattered.

When his football dreams are shattered, he is forced to make difficult choices and delves into the criminal world in a desperate bid to survive. However, as he strives to win a battle, he unknowingly sets in motion a chain of events that leads to the loss of much more than he ever bargained for.

Making of ‘Click Click Bang’

In a previous interview, Abel Mutua disclosed that ‘Click Click Bang’ had generated over Ksh9 million in revenue.

This impressive financial achievement stands in contrast to the production and distribution costs, which totalled Ksh7 million.

“From pre-production to marketing, we’ve used seven million. The returns are almost hitting a million, so it was successful. We really appreciate it because most film projects don’t make a profit. Most people look for funding abroad to make movies,” Abel Asserted.
