5 killed, several injured in grisly Timboroa accident

Five people have died and several others injured following a grisly road accident at Mlango area along Nakuru-Eldoret Road in Timboroa.

In a statement shared by The National Police Service (NPS), the accident occurred on Thursday, January 4 at around 1.40 a.m.

“NPS Officers from Timboroa Police Station are responding to a tragic road traffic accident that claimed 3 lives on 04/01/2024 at about 0140 hours at Mlango Tatu area along Nakuru-Eldoret Road,” the statement read.

According to NPS, the accident involved a Mitsubishi bus and three other vehicles, including a Toyota Probox.

The collision resulted in the loss of three lives at the scene. Numerous passengers have been swiftly transported to Eldama Ravine Sub-county Hospital for urgent medical attention.

NPS said two additional unidentified passengers succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident involved a Mistubish bus and 3 other vehicles including a Toyota Probox. Several passengers have been rushed to Eldama Ravine Sub-county Hospital for treatment but two more unknown passengers have succumbed,” NPS said.

The bodies of the deceased have been preserved at the Eldama Ravine Sub-county Hospital Morgue, awaiting autopsy procedures.

Efforts are underway to clear the road obstruction caused by the tragic accident. The authorities are diligently working to restore normalcy to the affected area.

The National Police Service urged caution on the roads, emphasizing the importance of adhering to traffic regulations to prevent further incidents of this nature.
