Nairobi among 5 counties to be affected by power outage on Tuesday

Kenya Power and Lighting Company has announced a scheduled power outage that will affect fie counties including Nairobi on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

The outage, resulting from routine maintenance, will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, according to the utility firm.

It will affect parts of Nairobi, Makueni, Homa Bay, Bomet and Nyeri counties.

In Nairobi, the outage which starts at 9:00 am and ends at 5:00 pm will affect Mua Park, Othelo Lane, Orchard Close, Muthaiga Grove, Serengeti Road, Mobil Plaza, Mutundu Road, Saudi Embassy, Muthaiga Golf Club and adjacent customers.

The outage will also affect parts of Nairobi West including Msufu Road, Gandhi Avenue, Kisauni Road, Muthaiti Avenue, Muhoho Avenue, Nairobi West Hospital, Hotel Rio, Kodi Road, Summerdale Hotel, Absa Bank Nairobi West branch, Geta Road, Nyayo Stadium and adjacent customers.

In Makueni, the interruptions will affect Itangini Market, Kaumoni Market, Muiu, Kathamba, Muuani, Kyangondu, Ngoluni, Mbiani, Ngaa, Ngoni, Muthwani, Nthunthini, Wambiti Mbumbuni, Kako, Kavingo, Itithini, Ndumbi, No. Nyanya, Utuneni, Kusyongali, Munyetani, Syunguni, Nguluni, Munyini, Kiteta, Kwa Ndunda, Kakuswi, Kwa Minzyoka, Kwa Kulomba, Tawa Market, Kalawani, Kikima Market, Mavindu and adjacent customers.

In Bomet County, the outage will start at 9:00 am to 4:00 pm affecting Tenwek Cardio Thoracic Centre and adjacent customers.

In Homa Bay County, the interruption will occur between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm affecting Rusinga Centre, Kakrigu Utajo, Lianda, Law Court, Wanyama, Tom Mboya, Kaswanga, Kamasengre, Utare, Dr Williams, Kolunga, Luore, Sienga and Wakondo and adjacent customers.

In Nyeri, the outage will affect Giakanja Secondary School, Giakanja Market, Karicheni Giakanja, Karibaini, Miberethi, Kiunyu and adjacent customers.
