David Kimani Kabiru is alleged to have taken the life of his mother Peninah Njoki Kabiru and his younger brother Maina Kabiru before turning to a neighbour who came to rescue the deceased.

The neighbour is recuperating in hospital.

Used knife to kill

The suspect, who is said to have had mental problems, is a student at Naivasha Mixed Secondary School.

Maina, who is said to have been undergoing treatment at Mathare Mental Hospital, used a kitchen knife to execute the heinous act.

According to a police report, a maid escaped death narrowly after she attempted to rescue the deceased.

He killed their lastborn too

Maina’s relative who did not want to be named said the suspect also used a stone to crush the head of his mother.

“Maina and his mother have never had any problems. At no point did I hear his mother complain about his behaviour. He is the firstborn in his family and he has killed Ian, who is the last born,” the relative said.

Police, who arrested the suspect, said he will undergo a medical check-up before being charged in court.

This is one of the criminal cases that happened this week that police and investigators are following. Other cases were recorded in Mombasa and Nyeri.
