Here’s the amount Spain will receive for winning World Cup 2026

Spain have been crowned 2026 FIFA World Cup champions, defeating Argentina in the final to lift football’s most prestigious trophy and claim their second FIFA World Cup title.
Besides etching their name into football history, Spain will also receive a record Ksh6.5 billion in prize money from FIFA, the largest winners’ payout in the tournament’s history.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup, which expanded from 32 to 48 teams, featured a record financial package. FIFA allocated Ksh112.39 billion in total financial contributions, including Ksh84.52 billion in performance-based prize money distributed according to each team’s finish in the tournament.
Worth noting is that FIFA pays the prize money to each national football federation, which then decides how the funds are distributed among players, coaches, technical staff and football development initiatives.
Argentina payout
Although Argentina fell short in the final, the runners-up will still receive a significant financial reward of approximately Ksh4.3 billion.
Finishing second at the World Cup remains one of the greatest achievements in international football and comes with substantial financial support from FIFA.
FIFA 2026 participating teams
In addition, each qualified team will receive Ksh193 million to cover preparation costs. This means that all Participating Member Associations are guaranteed at least Ksh1 billion each for their participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup tournament.
According to FIFA, every nation that qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will receive prize money based on how far they progressed in the tournament.
Finalists (5th–8th) will receive at least Ksh2 billion each, while the round of 16 teams (9th–16th) will each get Ksh1.9 billion.
On the other hand, the round of 32 teams (17th–32nd) will take home at least Ksh1.4 billion each.
Meanwhile, all the teams eliminated in the group stage (33rd–48th) will each receive approximately Ksh1.1 billion each.
“Champions: USD 50 million; runners-up: USD 33 million; 3rd place: USD 29 million; 4th place: USD 27 million; 5th-8th place: USD 19 million; 9th-16th place: USD 15 million; 17th-32nd place: USD 11 million; and 33rd-48th place: USD 9 million,” FIFA announced.
“The FIFA World Cup 2026 will also be groundbreaking in terms of its financial contribution to the global football community,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
