Timothy Ouma’s new club Charlton to face Tottenham in Carabao Cup
By Lutta Njomo, August 11, 2026Harambee Stars midfielder Timothy Ouma’s new side has been drawn against English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
The Addicks confirmed the new draw on Monday, August 10, 2026, minutes after confirming the signing of Kenyan international Ouma on a season-long loan from Czech First League club Slavia Prague, with an option to make the move permanent.
Following the regionalised draw, which took place on Monday evening, August 10, 2026, the Addicks will take on Spurs in what will be their first-ever visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the tie set to take place during the week of Monday, August 24, 2026.
“We will travel to Tottenham Hotspur in the second round of the Carabao Cup!” the Championship side announced.

Nathan Jones’ men booked their place in the second round of the competition thanks to a 3-1 victory at Cheltenham Town on Saturday, August 8, 2026.
It will be the first time Spurs will face Addicks since January 2011, when they ran out 3-0 winners in the third round of the FA Cup. An Andros Townsend strike plus a Jermain Defoe double saw Spurs past the south London side that day.
Seeking revenge
Charlton will be looking to avenge the 2011 defeat following the addition of Timothy Ouma and several other players during the recent transfer window.
The Kenyan midfielder spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Lech Poznań in Poland, where he gained further experience in European competition and lifted the Ekstraklasa title.

The side is also bolstered by the return of another Kenyan international, Collins Shichenje, who is a mainstay in their last line of defence.
