Shabana FC striker Mambote Assis has backed the club to make a triumphant return to their league encounters after suffering a major blow to their title chances against AFC Leopards in their last league outing.

The Glamour Boys saw their league title prospects slowed by a crushing 5-1 defeat by AFC Leopards at the Nyayo Stadium.

Speaking on Saturday, March 7, 2026, the Congolese striker stated that their FKF Cup round of 32 victory over Muhoroni Youth presents the best motivation to head back to their league matches.

Shabana next faces struggling Kariobangi Sharks with a target of recalibrating their league run after the last defeat to AFC Leopards.

Speaking on the assignment at hand, Assis expressed optimism that the team will carry on from where they left off when Ingwe ended their fine league form. “I am happy we managed to win this game after the setback last week,” he stated after a 5-1 victory over Division One side Muhoroni Youth.

“It is always a good feeling to head to a game on a winning run. It gives a good feeling and proper motivation. For me, it’s important for my confidence. Going into the next game, we want to keep the fight and continue the hunt for more points. It was not easy to bounce back after the defeat, but we have done it. We now shift focus to the next tie in the league,” he added.

Peter Okidi’s side will enjoy an extended spell of rest before facing Kariobangi Sharks on Sunday, March 15, 2026, in their next assignment.
