Clinical AFC Leopards hit 5 past Shabana in Nyayo thriller
AFC Leopards produced a clinical five-star performance in a 5-1 hiding of the rivals Shabana FC in a thrilling encounter at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday, March 1, 2026.
Goals from Samuel Semo and Tyson Otieno, together with a brace from Samuel Senyonjo and a strike from Kayci Odhiambo, completed a fine performance for the home team.
The defeat dealt a blow to Shabana’s recent resurgence and quest for the league’s title, with Peter Okidi’s charges tasting their first defeat after a seven-game unbeaten streak.
Ingwe on a fast start
Leopards made good on their bright start, with Semo and Otieno’s strikes giving them a massive two-goal lead by the end of the first half.

Semo’s superb opener from a well-executed set piece stormed Ingwe into the lead inside 17 minutes in a clash that saw both sets of fans fill the stadium for the highly anticipated challengers’ showdown.
Tyson’s brace
Proceedings went from bad to worse for the visitors shortly after, as Otieno bundled home from Ronald Sichenje’s delivery for the second goal before the break.

Startled by the two goals, Okidi’s side resumed the second half more determined and managed to pull one goal back.
The optimism from the visiting Tore Bobe fans was snapped instantly after Senyonjo restored Leopards’ two-goal advantage just six minutes later capitlisig on keeper’s mistake.
Standings
Kayci Odhiambo then ended the tie as a contest by scoring Leopards’ fourth goal of the evening.
Following a brief disruption to the clash, Leopards finished strongly, with the Ugandan international adding the fifth goal to completely finish off the opponents.
The win sees Fred Amabini’s side reduce the gap to leaders Gor Mahia to just six points, while Shabana remain in third place on 40 points.
In other clashes, Murang’a Seal FC inflicted a late heartbreak on Posta Rangers Mailmen in a 1-0 defeat in a league match on Sunday, March 1, 2026.
Jackson Imbiakha’s stoppage-time winner ensured all three points remained with the Murang’a-based side as Posta suffered yet another crushing league loss.
Muranga’ Seal, Police win
The victory, which came at a critical stage for the Murang’a-based club, snapped a run of two games without a win.
Elsewhere, Kenya Police recorded their first win under coach Nicholas Muyoti with a 2-0 demolition of visitors Bandari FC at the Police Sacco Stadium.
