Pamoja LOC, CAF delegation commence high-level AFCON 2027 planning talks in Kampala

A senior delegation from the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, commenced a crucial strategic engagement with the three PAMOJA host nations of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2027, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

The two-day meetings that will conclude on Thursday, April 23, 2026, in Kampala will see CAF and the Local Organising Committee of the three host nations give update on delivery priorities for the next phase of preparations for the Competition.

The meetings will also bring together representatives of the Governments of the three host nations, the Presidents of the three Member Associations, Acting CAF General Secretary Samson Adamu and CAF senior administration from various functional areas including Competitions, Commercial, Broadcasting, Safety and Security, Finance and other roles.

Meetings agenda

Speaking on the sidelines of the engagement on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, Football Kenya Federation President, Hussein Mohammed, shared the agenda of the meetings as the East African region prepares to stage the next edition of Africa’s premier football tournament.

”The agenda is to review the 2027 Pamoja AFCON preparations and agree on practical measures to address existing challenges, ensuring we deliver an exceptional tournament on schedule,” Mohammed said.

”As we prepare to stage a competition of global significance, our objective is to not only deliver a great competition on the pitch, but also to showcase the region’s hospitality, culture, and heritage to all visiting delegations and fans,” he added.

Important step

It marks an important step in the coordinated planning process and will focus on key functional areas critical to the successful delivery of the Competition, including safety and security, infrastructure, procurement, finance, media, ticketing and commercial operations.

This kick-off meeting reflects the collective determination of CAF and the three PAMOJA Host Nations to work in close collaboration and with a clear sense of purpose as preparations gather pace.

Meanwhile, CAF has said that it remains committed to supporting the host nations in building strong coordination mechanisms and operational readiness across all core areas of tournament delivery.
