No reprieve as Bidco United suffer another late heartbreak in Police draw

Struggling Bidco United suffered a late heartbreak in the league after conceding a last-gasp goal to draw reigning champions Police FC in a league clash played this Monday, February 2, 2026.

The clash at the Police Sacco Stadium saw Victor Kunyili storm Japheth Akhulia’s side to the lead with four minutes left on the clock.

Following a goalless opening half, the deadlock was ultimately broken when Kunyili slotted past Job Ochieng at goal after Abud Omar failed to clear his lines from a lofted pass inside the area.

In a moment mirroring their late implosion against Gor Mahia a couple of weeks ago, the Thika-based side conceded moments later.

Yves Koutiama capitalized on a defensive mix-up to steer the ball home and snatch a point for the hosts.

Akhulia laments conceding

The goal came as an anticlimactic end for Bidco United’s goalkeeper, who had proved instrumental in keeping the law enforcers out for most periods of the clash.

Meanwhile, it proved a continuation of the import fine form at goal with the Police January acquisition, netting his fourth goal since his arrival.

Speaking after the game, Akhulia lamented a repeat of what he decried as a lapse of concentration at the vital late stages of the game, having seen his side similarly implode late on against Gor Mahia and Murang’a Seal.

Two points lost

“This is two points lost. We led until the 85th minute. Conceding late has now cost us against Gor Mahia, Muranga Seal, and other clashes. We will have to work on it and ensure we don’t lose our concentration going forward. I think it is coming from a fear of losing, which makes us retreat to our half. When we overcome it, then I know we will be on the good side,” he stated.

Police FC ended up picking a point after suffering defeat from their previous away trip to Mombasa against Bandari FC.

Nicholas Muyoti jumped to fifth on 29 points, one below Muranga Seal at fourth and two below third-placed Shabana FC.

Bidco, on their part, moved a point above APS Bomet to sit 16th on the standings.
