Chelsea FC has announced Moises Caicedo has signed a new contract with the club that will keep him at the London side until 2033.

The Ecuadorian midfielder joined the Blues in August 2023 and has grown to become one of the most dominant midfielders in the English top flight as well as across Europe’s top five leagues.

Two trophies

He has made 140 appearances for the Blues and played a key role in our UEFA Conference League on May 28, 2025. Before the Blues followed up the success with a second FIFA Club World Cup triumph under Enzo Maresca on July 13, 2025, when they defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3–0 in the final at MetLife Stadium in the United States.

Speaking after the new deal on Friday, April 17, 2026, Caicedo, affectionately referred to as “Moi,” an abbreviation of his first name, shared his excitement, stating that he looks forward to bringing more trophies to the club

Just beginning

“I am so happy to have extended my contract at Chelsea,” Caicedo said as quoted by Chelseafc.com. “I believe in this team, this club, and I know we’re going in the right direction. We have only just begun together.

The combative midfielder also shared his dream of continuing his fine show with Liam Rosenior’s team while he eyes joining the elite team of the famed club legends.

‘There is still a lot more to achieve, and I’m very hungry to keep improving every day. I want to win more trophies with Chelsea and give everything for this club and for the fans.

‘We have enjoyed some great times together already, and my dream is to become a Chelsea legend, and I will work as hard as possible to make that happen,” he explained.

The lynchpin has scored eight goals across his 140 Chelsea appearances, one of which was voted the club’s 2024 Goal of the Season, where he also helped the team to claim two trophies, and was named our Player of the Season by supporters and Players’ Player of the Season.

The midfield general becomes the latest player to sign a new deal at the club after defender and skipper Reece James.

The Englishman committed his future to the club by agreeing to a six-year contract extension until 2032.

His contract was part of Chelsea’s new incentivised wage structure, where players are subject to performance metrics for individuals and the team.

This comes even as Enzo Fernandez’ future at the club remains a topic of discussion after being dropped for two consecutive games.
