Millions Shabana collected from FKF PL match against Bandari revealed

Home side Shabana FC walked away with maximum points as well as reaping big in ticket sales after hosting Bandari FC in a tightly contested Football Kenya Federation Premier League fixture staged at Gusii Stadium on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

The Glamour Boys edged the Dockers 1-0 courtesy of Brian Michira’s controversially awarded penalty in the first-half of the encounter. However, aside from bagging maximum points and remaining firmly in the title race, the club also had some convincing figures deposited into its bank account.

Gate collection

In a statement after the game, Shabana revealed that it collected a total of Ksh1.1 million in gate collection. ”We collected Ksh1, 131,500. It was great seeing the stadium painted red and white.” The statement read in part.

Shabana FC registered a crucial 1-0 victory over Bandari FC in a tightly contested league encounter on Game Week 19, with a first-half penalty proving decisive. The Kisii-based side took the lead in the 27th minute when Michira calmly converted from the spot, a goal that ultimately separated the two teams at full-time. Despite sustained pressure from Bandari, Shabana held firm to collect all three points.

Statistically, the match was evenly balanced, though Shabana enjoyed a slight edge in key areas. They dominated possession with 54 per cent compared to Bandari’s 46 per cent, while also completing more passes, registering 203 pass attempts against Bandari’s 183.

Shabana were notably sharper in distribution, recording an impressive 84 per cent pass accuracy, well above Bandari’s 74 per cent. Both sides were adventurous going forward. Bandari actually attempted more shots with 14 efforts, just one more than Shabana’s 13, but the home side was more clinical when it mattered, posting a superior 23 per cent shot accuracy compared to Bandari’s 14 per cent.

Set pieces were evenly shared, with each team winning five corners, highlighting how balanced the contest was. Discipline, however, slightly favoured Bandari, who picked up two yellow cards, while Shabana saw three of their players cautioned. Bandari were also caught offside more often, flagged four times compared to Shabana’s two.

In the end, Michira’s composure from the penalty spot made the difference, handing Shabana a hard-fought win and valuable points as the FKF Premier League season continues to gather momentum. The win took Shabana to third place on the log with 31 points, behind leaders Gor Mahia and second-placed AFC Leopards.
