Lionesses set for a tough test as HSBC SVNS 2 schedule is announced

World Rugby has released the official tournament schedule for the first leg of the HSBC SVNS 2, scheduled to take place in Nairobi on Saturday, February 14, and Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the Nyayo National Stadium.
The ladies’ action will kick off at 9:00 am EAT when China takes on Argentina, Spain and South Africa will take to the pitch 22 minutes later. The Kenya Lionesses face Brazil in the last match of the ladies’ first round.
The USA versus Belgium teams will open up the men’s first round of matches, followed by Uruguay facing Germany. Hosts, Kenya Shujaa, will wrap up this first session at 10:50 am against Canada.

Fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance and get to the stadium early enough, so they can enjoy the full HSBC SVNS 2 experience. In the same breath, KRU is urging fans to use ride-hailing cabs and public transport, which will drop them off at Nyayo National Stadium, since there’s no parking available at the venue.
Financial boost
As the countdown gathers pace to the inaugural leg of the 2026 HSBC SVNS2, Kenyan rugby has received a timely boost following a paint firm sponsorship of the tournament with a Ksh2 million commitment.
The partnership was officially unveiled on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the RFUEA Grounds in a ceremony that brought together key stakeholders from both the company and the Kenya Rugby Union.
Kenya Rugby Union Chairperson Harriet Okach welcomed the deal, describing the renewed support as a sign of trust and long-term commitment to Kenyan rugby.
She noted that the partnership had grown over time with the paint company, from the World Series to Safari Sevens and now the HSBC SVNS2, a journey she said the union is deeply grateful for. According to Okach, such collaborations play a key role in strengthening the game and ensuring Kenya continues to host world-class events.
