AFC Leopards Gambian import Ceesay shines in Ingwe’s preseason victory

AFC Leopards’ new recruit Musa Ceesay continued his pre-season scoring streak as Ingwe comfortably dispatched the Kericho-based Division One side Kipchimchim FC 4-1 in a friendly match on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
The new hitman at the Den maintained his fine start to life with the Kenyan giants, finding the net in consecutive pre-season fixtures during the team’s preseason training camp in Nakuru County.
Ingwe’s new arrivals
Ceesay opened the scoring before Kelly Okonji Madada, Victor Otieno, and last season’s top scorer Samuel Ssenyonjo each added a goal to complete the dominant victory.
The Gambian import was officially unveiled by the club on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, after completing a transfer from Gambian Premier League side Falcon FC, and he has wasted no time displaying his attacking quality in Leopards colours.

Having finished as runners-up last season, Ingwe are angling for a stronger campaign in pursuit of their first league title since 1998, a trophy they came close to lifting in 2026 before ultimately losing out to arch-rivals Gor Mahia with two games remaining.
The ongoing squad rebuild under the technical bench has also seen several other key reinforcements added to the setup, including winger Namaan Balecho from Bandari FC, as well as Ugandan international Taddeo Lwanga, who joined the outfit from Ugandan Premier League side Vipers FC.
Meanwhile, Kevin Luke Otiala and goalkeeper Sebastian Wekesa both joined Ingwe ranks from Kariobangi Sharks.
Otiala is a former Kariobangi Sharks captain and will fill the void left by defender Rammy Lasso, who departed the den at the end of the season, while Weksa was part of Haramee Stars’ 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) team.
Meanwhile, Ingwe also bolstered its coaching department with the addition of experienced gaffer Bernard Mwalala, previously with Bandari FC and Shabana.
Mwalala’s arrival as a new technical bench staff member is expected to add more depth beyond that of Ambani’s and the existing technical staff team.
