Kenyan youngsters Aldrine Kibet and Job Ochieng extend fine run with European clubs
By Luke Oluoch, March 2, 2026Harambee Stars aces Aldrine Kibet and Job Ochieng continued their goal-scoring form for their respective clubs on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in Spain.
Former Solidarity Boys attacking midfielder Kibet was on target as Celta Vigo U19 cruised to a dominant 5–1 victory over Montañeros U19 on Sunday.
Kibet netted the fourth goal in a dominant display, sealing the team’s fifth consecutive league victory. The feat marked a continuation of an individual fine run in front of goal for the former Nastic academy talent, who also claimed a goal and assist in his last outing for the Spanish club.
Cruising Kibet
Kibet scored and provided an assist as Celta Vigo U19 edged Athletic Club U19 2-1 to reach the Spanish U19 King’s Cup semi-finals.
The 19-year-old’s team is now second with 51 points (16W, 3D, 2L), just four behind Deportivo de La Coruña with a game in hand against Pontevedra CF.
On the Cup run, Celta is in contention for two pieces of silverware, with a decisive encounter against their Real Betis counterparts next on their roster in a Copa del Rey semi-final match-up.

Meanwhile, Job Ochieng’s splendid streak with Real Sociedad’s B side continued with the winger scoring in a 3-2 defeat to Deportivo de La Coruña.
Ochieng saw his powerful effort that struck the post bundled home by a teammate before he added his own name to the scorers with a goal of his own.
Ochieng’s La Liga bow
The attacker has been making waves in the Spanish football circles and made a major career milestone on Saturday, February 7, 2026, by earning his La Liga debut with the senior team in a 3-1 victory over Elche.
He later committed his future to the La Liga reserves team, cementing his important role for the Anoeta club.
His La Liga debut saw him join an exclusive club of three Kenyan internationals who have stepped into the Spanish top-tier league alongside the Harambee Stars legend McDonald Mariga, who played for Real Oviedo during his heyday, and Michael Olunga.
