Haaland promises more from Man City in post-Guardiola era
Norwegian striker Erling Haaland believes Manchester City still has greater achievements ahead despite already enjoying a highly successful campaign, as the club celebrated its 2026 trophy parade under bright sunshine on Sunday, May 25, 2026.
Haaland joined his teammates in marking a memorable season that saw City secure both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup titles. Supporters packed the streets during the parade through Manchester before the celebrations continued at the Co-Op Live after-party event.
Thousands of fans also turned out to honour City’s women’s side after they captured the 2025/26 Barclays Women’s Super League crown, while the club’s FA Youth Cup-winning squad also participated in the festivities.
The occasion additionally marked an emotional farewell to long-serving manager Pep Guardiola, whose decade-long spell at the club delivered 20 major trophies. Departing stars Bernardo Silva and John Stones were also celebrated for their immense contributions during their successful years at the Etihad Stadium.

Despite the celebratory mood, Haaland insisted the team is capable of reaching even greater heights in the future.
More to come
“It’s amazing – the weather’s on our side as well,” said the Premier League Golden Boot winner while enjoying the celebrations with supporters on one of the hottest days of the year.
“I’m just happy for the Manchester City fans.
“I got the feeling we could’ve done more this season but there’s more to come.
“I’m enjoying the parade now but I think there’ll be an even better one in the future.”
The prolific forward also paid tribute to Stones and Bernardo Silva as the pair prepared to leave the club after distinguished careers filled with silverware.
According to Haaland, both players have been exceptional figures both on the pitch and away from football, helping shape City’s recent dominance.
“Bernardo and John have been here for nine or ten years and won six Premier Leagues each, which speaks for itself,” he said.
“Two legends of the club who are amazing on and off the pitch.
“They’ve been amazing for City and I am so proud to have played with them.”
Haaland further revealed that he admired Stones long before becoming his teammate.
“It’s a pleasure, I remember following John Stones on Twitter when I was young, I don’t think he knows!
“I’m proud to be playing with them and have won the Premier League, Champions League with them.”
Stones on Haaland
Stones returned the praise by describing Haaland as one of the world’s elite footballers while highlighting his character beyond the game.

“Erling has become one of the greatest players in the world if not the best in his position in my opinion, the best,” Stones said.
“But an even better friend and that speaks volumes of the person he is, to be a better person then player.
“I’ve enjoyed every moment with him and I’ll miss him.”
