By Joel Masibo, May 12, 2026League leaders Gor Mahia have confirmed venue changes for the upcoming Football Kenya Federation Premier League clash against Murang’a Seal on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
In a statement released on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, K’Ogalo announced that the particular match, initially scheduled to be staged at SportPesa Arena in Murang’a County, will now be played at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi on the same date.

”We will now face Murang’a Seal at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday instead of the originally scheduled venue in Murang’a.” The statement read, in brief.
Police encounter
In their last league outing on Sunday, May 10, 2026, Gor Mahia produced a spirited late response to earn a 1-1 stalemate against Police FC in an entertaining SportPesa League encounter, maintaining their push for the championship.
Police FC made a brighter start and capitalised on Gor Mahia’s sluggish opening moments to grab an important lead before halftime. The visitors then remained disciplined at the back, frustrating K’Ogalo’s attacking efforts and protecting their advantage heading into the interval.
After the restart, the match shifted in favour of Gor Mahia. Coach Charles Akonnor introduced key adjustments that immediately lifted the team’s intensity and attacking rhythm.
The league leaders returned for the second half with renewed purpose, constantly driving Police FC into a defensive position for extended periods.
Their persistence was rewarded late in the game when substitute Ebenezer Assifuah found the back of the net with only four minutes left in normal time, sparking wild celebrations among the home supporters.

Gor Mahia continued to dominate the closing minutes and carved out several promising chances, but they were unable to complete the turnaround with a winning goal.
Police FC, under heavy pressure, managed to survive the late onslaught and walked away thankful to secure a point as Gor Mahia failed to convert multiple opportunities.
Although the result may feel disappointing for the hosts, the draw still moved Gor Mahia to 65 points at the summit of the standings, seven ahead of their nearest challengers, AFC Leopards, with just three fixtures remaining, putting them in a strong position to retain the league crown.
