Gor confirm key player sidelined with injury as league gathers momentum

Football Kenya Federation Premier League club Gor Mahia FC has confirmed that lethal forward and the club’s top scorer Felix Oluoch will spend some weeks out with aknee injury.
Gor Mahia’s medical team has confirmed that Oluich, who has scored seven times in the 2025/26 FKF Premier League season, is sidelined indefinitely, requiring specialist consultation and careful management.
As stated by the Team Doctor, Brain Odongo, on Sunday, January 25, 2026, Felix is suffering from patellar tendinopathy. The injury has been a lingering concern.
Felix Oluoch sidelined
Odongo confirmed the diagnosis and outlined the recovery plan: “Phelix sustained a knee injury and has been diagnosed with patellar tendinopathy. He is currently undergoing medical management and physical rehabilitation,” Odongo stated.
“The medical team will continue to monitor his progress closely and his return to play will be determined based on his recovery and response to treatment.”
Head Coach Charles Akonnor emphasized Oluoch’s importance to the squad while prioritizing the player’s health.
“Felix had to sit out during yesterday’s match (against Bidco United) because of the injury. I was briefed by the team doctor, and we will also be seeking a specialist opinion on the way forward. As it is, he can’t play,” said Akonnor.
“He is a very important player, and his well-being is key. We will take all steps to have him back in good shape.” He added.
The club now has to work with the available options of attackers as Felix undergoes the management process. Meanwhile, as the league gathers momentum, Felix Oluoch’s injury could impact Gor Mahia’s campaign, but Charles Akonnor’s team has depth even on the bench.
